Case Study: Whitehill Primary School
Whitehill Primary School needed a new area in the school for its staff as they were having to use an old classroom as their staffroom. The school asked TG Escapes to build a central, ecological building which would fit into the existing environment and provide a space where staff could spend time to relax and communicate in-between lessons.
With little to no disruption to school’s schedule, the staffroom was built within the central quad of the primary school with large windows and glass doors to allow natural light into the space and allow staff to observe children in the playground. The staffroom also provided the perfect place for the children’s school council to be held and served as centrepiece for the school and everyday school life. Built in 2012 for £75k net.
“It was just really exciting to see it go up, the children really enjoyed it and it was just so quick.”
“The whole team has been amazing from sales to completion.”
“Being a stand-alone building, there is always that bit of excitement from children when taken into the classroom.”
Uses and FunctionsSmall and compact, our 30-60m² classrooms are ideal for extra, standalone buildings to make use of underutilised space in school grounds. With little disruption and in a short span of time, these modular eco-classrooms can be put to use in no time at all for a multitude of purposes.
